Exactly one week after her due date, Riley Kate was born at 9:57AM on Sunday, October 23rd. She was 7 pounds 7 ounces, 21 inches long with lots of dark hair. She looked like her daddy from the start, all the way down to the crooked left nostril that they both have. Labor was about 22 hours long and the little girl decided to come out with her hand and arm at her head. We had an amazing doctor and nurse who delivered her without dislocating her shoulder or hurting me. Ryan was by my side the entire time, and I couldn't imagine life being any more perfect than the moment we all met.
The moment that she was placed on my chest was the single best second of my life.
My mom and Ryan's mom were both allowed into the room about an hour after she was born and they were both overjoyed to meet their newest (my mom) and first (Ryan's mom) grandchild.
By Sunday afternoon we felt up to having some guests and some of our close friends came by to meet Riley.
